CONNECTING IKORODU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY: JB BRINGS LONG-ANTICIPATED FULL ROAD UPGRADE TO OLU-ODO/ADEGBOSE/IGBO AGBOWA COMMUNITY AREAS▪️”This road is strategic, linking Solebo junction, Ebute express road down to Olu-Odo, Igbo-Agbowa, and a part of Lajo. It will be a game-changer,” Daini revealed

The Olu-Odo/Adegbose/Igbo-Agbowa road construction, a long-anticipated project in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Ikorodu Federal Constituency, came to life on Saturday, November 30, 2024, as Hon. Babajimi Benson (JB) officially flagged off the project.

Residents of the area, and its adjoining community areas hailed the development as a fulfillment of JB’s consistent dedication to infrastructural transformation.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, the contractor, Lara lek Nig. Limited, emphasized the need for community collaboration to ensure smooth progress. “We seek the community’s cooperation to avoid disruptions. Rest assured, this project will be delivered on time and with the highest quality,” said the contractor’s representative.

The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Daini who served as the event’s Chief Host, commended JB’s efforts in addressing the infrastructural challenges of the constituency. “With over 70 completed roads to his credit, JB continues to raise the bar. This road is a strategic connection linking Olu-Odo to Igbo-Agbowa and parts of Lajo. It will be a game-changer,” he stated.

To ensure seamless delivery, the Chairman announced that all illegal structures, including shanties and containers along the route, would be cleared. “This road will feature dual drainages, streetlights, and a modern urban design. JB is committed to delivering a project that meets global standards,” he affirmed.

In his address, JB, represented by Deen Sanwoola, highlighted the transformative potential of the road. “This project signifies unprecedented growth for Olu-Odo and its environs. It will reposition the community as one of the most desirable residential areas in Lagos State. In a decade, the landscape here will be remarkable,” Sanwoola said.

Acknowledging the critical role of youth and local leaders in project success, JB issued a clear warning against disruptions. “In our style, we do not negotiate disruptions. The community must ensure the contractor works without interference. Let’s unite for progress,” he urged.

To maintain quality control, the LCDA Chairman announced the formation of a project monitoring committee. “This committee will meet monthly to ensure standards are upheld during construction and to manage the road post-completion. It’s a feedback mechanism for continuous improvement,” he explained.

The event drew notable dignitaries, including the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo (represented by his council), the Baale of Olu-Odo, the Olu-Odo family, and the Chief Imam of Olu-Odo. Other prominent attendees included Hon. Kazeem Olanrewaju, Council Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Otunba Ganiu Abiru, and a host of others.

Residents expressed optimism about the project, describing it as a milestone in the community’s development journey. “This road is not just infrastructure; it’s a symbol of hope and progress. JB has given us a future to look forward to,” a community leader remarked.

As the ceremony concluded with the official groundbreaking, the Olu-Odo community celebrated what they described as the dawn of a new era. For them, the road represents a bridge to greater opportunities and an improved quality of life.
